How do I apply for loans?

To apply and be eligible for a Federal Student Loan:

To accept your student loans:

  • Review your financial aid offer at myWSU.wichita.edu. Select the myFinances tab and then Financial Aid Dashboard under Financial Aid Links.
  • Select the Offer tab to view and decide on your offer. You may accept a partial amount for each appropriate type of aid after selecting the drop-down menu under Take Action. Select Modify and then enter the modified amount in the space provided. Select Ok. Accepted loan amounts will be split equally between the fall and spring semesters.
  • Select Submit.
    • All offers are based on available funding levels and are subject to change. Wichita State retains the right to revise, cancel, or withdraw offers if we are notified of additional aid resources for you or if aid is not accepted by the deadlines of each aid program. To apply for a PLUS loan:

  • It can be borrowed by parents of dependent undergraduate students or graduate students.
  • Are offered one academic year at a time.
  • Parents: Apply for a Parent PLUS loan by completing an online Parent PLUS Loan Application at studentaid.gov.
  • Certifying approved PLUS loans for the upcoming academic year will begin in July and will take up to 3 weeks for processing. Students must be enrolled for the loan to be certified and processed. After the loan is processed, students will be able to see the loan amount on their Financial Aid Dashboard.

The amount and type of the award depend on the student's academic grade level and financial aid received respectfully.
