Yes. Federal financial aid is not automatically renewable; you must apply every year at studentaid.gov. To receive priority consideration for federal financial aid programs with limited funding, Wichita State University's priority FAFSA deadline is December 1, 2025 for the 2026–2027 academic year. For the 2027–2028 academic year, the priority deadline is December 1, 2026.
