What is the Shocker Pathway program?

Body

Shocker Pathway is a joint program between Wichita State University and Wichita Area Technical College (WATC) where students start their coursework at WATC and complete their Associate of Arts Degree at WSU.

Students may take up to 50 credit hours at WATC, then transfer to WSU to complete the degree requirements with an additional 15 credit hour minimum.

  • Students only apply at WATC, they will not apply or pay the application fee at WSU
  • Students in this program are pre-admitted to WSU with a transfer GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • The cost to send the WATC transcript to WSU is waived
  • The degree will be awarded from WSU
  • Students pay the WATC tuition rates while taking classes at WATC; the remaining classes taken at WSU will be billed at WSU rates
  • Dual advising will be available to students with advisers at WATC and WSU
