What is an Alternative Loan?
Alternative loans are available to students who are not eligible for federal financial aid or who need additional funds to meet their educational costs. Alternative loans are not guaranteed by the federal government. In addition, the lender will review your credit history, as well as other criteria to determine eligibility, amounts, and interest rates. Some students may need a loan co-signer for alternative loans.
