How do I view my financial aid offer?

Body

Before you begin: Financial aid and scholarship applications are only processed after being admitted to Wichita State University.

Here’s how to see your financial aid offer:

Step 1: Complete your FAFSA

After you submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the Office of Financial Aid will receive and process your information within 3–5 business days.

If the Financial Aid office needs additional documents before they can process your FAFSA, they will contact you through your WSU email, so check it often. This can also be found under unsatisfied requirements in your Financial Aid Dashboard.

Once all requested items are submitted and reviewed, you will be notified of your financial aid eligibility.

Step 2: Watch for your award offer

When your financial aid award offer is ready, you’ll get an email in your WSU email.

Follow the instructions in that email to accept, decline, or modify your awards. If you want help understanding your offer, you can visit the Understanding Your Financial Aid Offer webpage or reach out to the Office of Financial Aid directly.

Step 3: Check your financial aid status

You can check your status right from your myWSU account. Here’s how:

1. Log in to your myWSU portal.

2. Click on the myFinances tab.

3. Select Financial Aid Dashboard under Financial Aid Links.

4. Use the drop-down menu to choose the correct aid year.

Step 4: Review any missing items

You can look over your financial aid terms and conditions at wichita.edu/finaidpolicy.

Inside your Financial Aid Dashboard, you'll see any missing items listed as “Unsatisfied Requirements.”

· A green circle with a checkmark means you’re good to go.

· A yellow warning flag means it’s still being processed, or you still need to submit additional information to the Office of Financial Aid.

Step 5: Go over to the “Offer” Tab in the Financial Aid Dashboard

Be sure to double-check that you are in the correct aid year. Then, look for the Award Offer tab. This is where you’ll see:

  • Grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study you’ve been offered
  • How much is offered per semester and for the full year
  • The Cost of Attendance, which is a breakdown of estimated expenses
