Do you have a hold?
Certain holds will prevent registration. You can view holds in your myWSU account under the myClasses tab in the Academic Profile box. The hold description will give information regarding who to contact to have the hold removed. For additional information on how to view holds, click here.
Did you receive a Registration Error Message?
If you receive an error message that says the following, there are two explanations:

- You need electronic permission
You need electronic permission from your college to enroll. You need to get electronic permission to enroll from an academic advising office and may need to meet with an advisor. Click here to locate contact information for your Advising Office. You will need electronic permission from your college if you are in any of these groups (or similar):
- Deciding LAS majors - freshmen and sophomores
- All Engineering majors
- All Fine Arts majors
- Deciding Health Professions – freshmen and sophomores
- You are outside your scheduled time
During the first week of enrollment, students register based on their current class standing. You may be attempting to enroll too soon.
Did you receive a Prerequisite or Course Restriction Error Message?
- Many courses have a prerequisite – a minimum test score or another course(s) that must be completed before that course can be taken.
- For assistance with registration errors, click here for contact information.
- The course description in the online catalog at wichita.edu/catalog will list any required prerequisites.
- A course description and prerequisites can also be found when you log in to your myWSU portal, click on myClasses tab, click on Student Registration (Banner 9) and Browse Classes.
Are you an International student?
International students in F-1 status will need to complete the check-in process with the International Education office before enrolling.

- To complete this in-person, visit: Shocker Success Center, Suite 003 (Lower Level West)
Are you an active student?
Only active students are eligible to enroll in classes at WSU. For more information on what you may need to do to become an active student, please click here. If you have not been admitted to WSU, click here for more information on admission.
