The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires people who want F-1 or J-1 visas to pay a one-time SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) Fee of US $350 before applying for a visa. This is in addition to the normal visa processing fee of US $160. This new fee helps to pay for SEVIS that U.S. schools use to make I-20 forms.
The SEVIS Fee can be paid to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) online, by mail with a check or money order, or by Western Union. To pay your SEVIS Fee, you must have:
School Code for Wichita State University: KAN214F00668000 SEVIS Identification Number: Located above the bar code on the right side of your I-20 starting with "N"
