How many credit hours do I have to take to be considered full time for financial aid? Part time?

An undergraduate student taking at least 12 hours during the fall or spring semester is considered a full-time student.

For graduate students, at least 9 graduate credit hours are considered full-time**. 

 

 

12 credit hours in the summer is considered to be full-time for undergraduate students

6 graduate credithours in the summer is considered to be full-time for graduate students

**Graduate students who are half-time teaching or research assistants are considered full-time if they take 6 or more credit hours. Graduate students taking all or a majority of courses which carry undergraduate credit must meet the 12-hour requirement to be certified as a full-time student.
