Typically, scholarships that show as cancelled (CANC) have been replaced with larger or more prestigious scholarships. This is common during the Freshman Merit Reconsideration when increased test scores can raise a student’s total score, thus placing them in a higher award level.
Why was my scholarship withdrawn?
Scholarships are withdrawn when students no longer meet the eligibility requirements found in the scholarship guidelines. This can be due to enrollment, GPA, change of major, etc. If you are unsure of the reason, contact the College or Department that issued the scholarship.
- WDRN – no longer meets the fund requirements
- WDNA – withdrawn for non-acceptance by the deadline date
- WDNE – withdrawn for non-enrollment by the deadline date(s)
If I lose my scholarship, can I get it back?
Renewable Merit Scholarships can be reinstated if you meet the minimum 3.00 overall GPA and have earned at least 24 credit hours over the prior year. These awards will not be automatically reinstated, and you must file a scholarship appeal when requesting consideration. The scholarship appeal form and corresponding semester deadlines are available at wichita.edu/scholarshipappeal.
Other types of scholarships, such as the WSU Foundation Endowed Scholarships can only be reinstated if funds are available. Students must contact their Scholarship Coordinator for consideration. A list of scholarship coordinators by academic college is available here.
