Can I get access to Wichita State University services as a student at WSU Tech?

In order to better serve our students, WSU and WSU Tech have created a new program called the Shocker Student Experience. This program provides additional opportunities for WSU Tech students to have access to benefits at Wichita State.

WSU Tech is an affiliation between Wichita State University (WSU) and Wichita Area Technical College (WATC). The official name is now Wichita State University Campus of Applied Sciences and Technology which is why it is commonly referred to as WSU Tech. Although both entities remain two separate degree-granting institutions, they have a similar name and a formalized affiliation to allow for more collaborative work. All processes will remain separate (i.e. apply for admission, financial aid, send transcripts, etc.).

As a WSU Tech student, you have the option to pay an additional fee to enroll in the Shocker Student Experience program.

Program information:

  • Must be enrolled in nine or more credit hours
  • No refund available past the nine day refund period
  • Cost is $700 per semester (added to your WSU Tech student account)
  • Financial aid will cover the fee

Benefits include (student ID required):

  • Access to Student Health Services
  • Access to counseling services
  • Free membership to the YMCA
  • Access to Campus Recreation and Rhatigan Student Center
  • Free tickets to athletic events
  • Free tickets to fine arts events
