How can I get more financial aid if I have special required fees and/or supplies?

If your educational program requires additional fees or supplies, the Office of Financial Aid may include these special costs in your "cost of attendance", which sets the budget for the maximum financial aid a student may receive/borrow.

However, in some cases where you have already used your maximum annual financial aid for the school year (such as Pell grant limits or loan limits), you may not necessarily be eligible for an increase in your financial aid. Some options after a budget adjustment may include a Parent PLUS loan, a private student loan, or a Graduate student PLUS loan.

Note: Some equipment purchases, such as a laptop, are only allowed as a one-time adjustment to your financial aid.

Visit with a financial aid adviser to discuss the additional fees and the appeal process for adjusting your cost of attendance.
