Change Your Action on a Financial Aid Offer

If you previously accepted, declined, or reduced a financial aid offer and want to make a change, you can submit an update through the Update My Aid Decision webapp. This webapp is strictly for financial aid adjustments – not for scholarships.

If you do not have financial aid, there won’t be anything listed for you to update. For further questions regarding this, it would be best to connect with the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.

When to Use Update My Aid Decision

  • Reduce a loan you previously accepted
  • Cancel a loan you previously accepted (before it disburses)
  • Reinstate aid you previously declined
  • Request that loans be re-offered if your portal no longer allows changes

What You Cannot Do in the Webapp

  • You cannot use Update My Aid Decision to:
  • Accept your financial aid for the first time
  • Decline your financial aid for the first time
  • Initial acceptance/decline must be done in your myWSU Financial Aid Dashboard.

To submit a change on the Update My Aid Decision

  1. Log into your myWSU portal
  2. Go to the myFinances tab 
  3. Select Update My Aid Decision located in the Financial Aid Links box

5. Select the Aid Year for the revision

6. Select the Financial Aid Decision Update as it applies to you

7. Continue to go through the series of questions the form asks you. 

8. Complete the form based on the information you are changing. Use the text box to explain your update. 

9. Click Submit.

  • Please allow up to 3 weeks for processing once your request has been submitted.
  • If additional information is needed, you will be contacted via your Wichita State email.
  • While all efforts are made to accommodate your updates, we may adjust your interest to stay in compliance with federal, state, and university regulations.
  • We are unable to increase financial aid beyond maximum and/or annual eligibility due to federal regulations. These requests will be cancelled.
  • We are unable to cancel/reduce aid that has already been paid. You may coordinate with WSU Accounts Receivable to return previously paid out funds.
