How can I determine if classes taken from another school count toward my degree?

Once you are admitted and your official college transcripts have been received, they will be evaluated by the Wichita State University Registrar’s Office. Transfer work is added to your record within four (4) weeks of receipt by the Registrar’s Office. However, that time can be longer during high volume periods, including the weeks surrounding the start and end of each term. There is no cost to review a transcript.

Transfer Gateway
Wichita State University offers you the ability to enter courses you have completed from other schools into our Transfer Gateway before you are admitted. This program will then show you the number of credits that may apply to your degree program. The Gateway also provides you with information about related careers, average salaries, hiring demand and details about each major.

To get started, visit www.wichita.edu/transfer and click on Transfer Gateway to enter your course information. You will be asked to create a profile to automatically save your work for future reference. Only American schools and undergraduate courses can be evaluated through the Transfer Gateway.

Transfer Equivalency
In order to determine how your courses may transfer and whether they will meet general education and/or degree requirements, you will need to work with your academic advisor. You can request to meet with an advisor to review transfer work before you are admitted to WSU. There is no fee associated with this transcript review.

Guidelines used by WSU regarding transfer credit can be found here.
