What charges can or cannot be refunded?

Cannot be refunded

  • Payment plan down payment and fee – The $100 down payment and $30 fee that are charged to set up a payment plan cannot be refunded.

  • Credit card convenience fee – This fee is paid to a third party. Acknowledgement and agreement to pay this fee is made when the credit card payment is completed.

  • Webcheck or check payment – If you made a webcheck payment in error, the payment will be sent to the bank. You can contact your bank and inquire about a ‘stop pay’. In the event that your payment is returned or “insufficient,” WSU will charge a $30 Non-Sufficient Fund (NSF) fee.

  • Overpayment - If you accidentally overpaid on your account, all money is sent to the State Treasury and overpayments remain on your account for future charges.

  • Late fees– All student accounts with an outstanding balance of $150 or more from tuition, enrollment related fees, or housing charges assessed in the current term will incur a $100 late fee on the first business day after the published due date. If your account balance is still outstanding 90 calendar days into the current term, an additional $100 late fee will be assessed to your account. There will never be more than two late fees assessed per semester.

    • A student with pending financial aid will not be assessed the late fee if the pending aid does not leave an account balance greater than $150.
