Will I need to take placement exams?

Wichita State University offers placement exams for English, Spanish and math. You can choose to complete placement exams in person or online.

English and Math
You are required to take placement exams for English and math if you have not submitted ACT/SAT test scores to WSU. If you have submitted your ACT/SAT test scores, the option is available to take a placement exam at WSU to try and place into a higher level course.

Placement exams for Math and English* Placement are provided in Blackboard. Please be aware there is a $10 exam fee that will be placed on your student account after completing your exam.

When your exam is complete, the information will be sent to the department for grading. Your results will be posted typically within a week, if not sooner. *Please allow 2-3 business days to receive your English placement exam score as each test is individually graded. If you have questions regarding your exam, please reach out directly to the department.
