How much refund will I get if I drop my course(s)?

Body

If you decide to drop or withdraw from your classes, some tuition and course related fees may be refundable. Certain fees, including but not limited to, program fees, late fees, and the $130 down payment of the payment plan are not refundable. REMINDER: It can take up to four (4) weeks to process your dropped class refund.

The amount of your refund depends on the length of your course (i.e. full term, first 8-week, pre-session, etc.). To find out the length of your course, follow these steps:

  1. Log into your myWSU portal
  2. Go to the myClasses tab
  3. Click on Banner 9 Student Schedule located in the View My Schedule box

  7. Use the Class Begin and Class End dates listed to determine the number of weeks that your course runs (In this example, you will see a second 8-week course).

How payment was received will be taken into your refund consideration.

  • If you paid with a credit card, the refund will be refunded to your credit card.
  • If you paid with the payment plan, you may actually owe money if not in a 100% refund period.
  • If you received financial aid, you may or may not be eligible to receive a refund.
  • If you have direct deposit, the refund will be sent to your bank account.
  • If you do not have direct deposit, you will receive a paper check in the mail to your address on record with the university.
  • If a debt is owed to the University, the refund will be applied to the debt owed before being issued to the student.
