Body
Wichita State University offers a tuition and fees payment plan option for your convenience which allows you to make multiple payments throughout the semester rather than one lump sum. This plan is only available for the term in which you are currently enrolled. If you need to set up payment arrangements for a prior semester, you will need to contact Accounts Receivable.
Note: If housing and meal plan charges are not paid in full by the tuition due date (found in the Important Dates Calendar), students will be automatically placed on a separate payment plan that spreads these charges throughout the semester. This will result in two payment plans for the student: one for housing and meal plan charges, one for tuition and fees.
Deadline
The last day to set up a payment plan is one day before the first payment is due (spring semester = February 14, summer semester = June 14, fall semester = September 14). A late fee will be assessed on the first business day after the payment due date if you have a balance of $150 or greater. Click here for additional information regarding late fees on your account.
The remaining balance is to be paid in equal payments over the remainder of the semester on the following dates:
- Spring semester = February 15, March 15, April 15
- Summer semester = June 15, July 15
- Fall semester = September 15, October 15, November 15
If you add or drop a class after signing up for the payment plan, your plan will adjust daily at 6 a.m. to reflect these changes. If you need to set up a payment plan after the deadline, you will need to contact Accounts Receivable at 316-978-3333.

For any additional questions regarding your payment plan, please contact Accounts Receivable.
Payment plan (applicable) charges
The payment plan is for course and semester related fees that equal a minimum of $150. It can include foreign student health insurance. However, the payment plan does NOT include non-course related fees such as outstanding debts, fines, placement exams, and orientation.
Note: Meal and room charges are automatically set up for students spreading out the charges over the semester. Students may pay in full rather than paying monthly.
Set up a payment plan for current semester tuition and course related fees
If you want to set up a payment plan, it must be for the current semester charges and completed online by following these steps:
- Log into your myWSU portal
- Go to the myFinances tab
- Click on Student Account Suite (found in the middle section in the Accounts Receivable Links box)

- Select Payment Plans
- Click Enroll Now
- Choose your term by using the Select Term option and click Select
- Click Select
- The down payment amount will default to $100* which is the minimum plus the $30 setup fee. However, you have the option to make a larger down payment in order to reduce your monthly payments by entering an amount in the Additional down payment box and hit enter or tab. Click the Update Schedule button to see your updated payments on the right of the screen.
*Note: Both the down payment of $100 and setup fee of $30 are non-refundable and due when setting up your payment plan. The remaining balance is to be paid in payments over the remainder of the semester.
- Choose one of the following:
- Yes. I want to set up my payments. Let me choose the payment method that will automatically be used to make a payment on each due date by automatically taking it out of either my bank account or charging my credit card.
- No. I do not want to set up payments. I will come back and make each payment on or before the due date.*
- Click Continue
- Select Payment Method (this option may not appear if you have already paid the $130 down payment with cash or financial aid)
- You will need to agree to the Terms and Conditions and click Continue.
*Note: In the setup of the payment plan, if you do not wish the payments to automatically pay from your checking/savings or credit card account, please be sure to select NO when asked if you want to set up automatic payments.
If you have financial aid
- If your financial aid has been applied to your account, there will be an amount in the Total Amount Paid box. Enter that amount less the $100 required down payment and less the $30 setup fee into the Additional down payment box and hit enter or tab. Click the Update Schedule button. This will result in three equal payments (you must have at least $130 in financial aid to cover your down payment or you will be responsible for the remaining down payment).
- If your financial aid has not been applied or will be applied to your account later, you will be responsible for paying the down payment. Once your financial aid is disbursed, it will be applied to your upcoming payment(s).
Prior Semester Payment Plan
Payment plans are offered to students and their authorized users/parties as a monthly installment used to pay outstanding debts on a student's account for one outstanding semester (this can include outstanding housing and meals). All other outstanding debts for other semesters must be paid in full and are not eligible for a payment plan. The plan is configured to pay in either 3 or 6 monthly installments. The student account will be placed on hold until the balance due has been paid in full. This payment plan does allow the student to register for future courses and/or to delay an account from being sent to a collection agency. On this plan, students may not be able to obtain a diploma until student account is paid in full. Payment plan users will be automatically unenrolled from the plan and cannot be reinstated if a payment is missed. Transcript services will not be withheld for any student with a financial hold.
