Breakdown of Course Fees
Below is a listing of course-related fees that you may see on your student account at Wichita State University.
- Tuition is assessed per credit hour based on your resident status, course level and instructional method. Please visit www.wichita.edu/tuition.
- College and department fees are assessed to students taking classes from specific departments at a flat fee or per credit hour rate. Please visit here for more information.
- Student Support Services fees are assessed based on the number of credit hours you are enrolled in per semester and support the Rhatigan Student Center, Campus Recreation, Student Health, Health and Wellness, Counseling and Prevention Services, Student Government Association, Student Involvement, Sunflower, College of Fine Arts programming, Intercollegiate Athletics, Child Development Center, Education Opportunity Fund (EOF), Student Conduct and Community Standards, Student Affairs Assessment and Retention, Student Affairs Initiative, Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Shift Space Gallery, Formula Team, Model UN, Baja Team SAE, Graduate Student Council, Graduate Student Programming, Mikrokosmos, and CSG Visiting Artist Lecture Series. - Campus infrastructure & support fees are assessed to all students per credit hour per semester. The fee will fund registration costs (Strategic Communications, Registrar's Office, Financial Operations and Business Technology, Online Education, Academic Affairs, Strategic Enrollment Management, Badge/Lifelong Learning), technology, transportation and the OneStop Student Services center which provides 24/7 support for students in the areas of admissions, financial aid, registration, advising and student accounts. This fee also supports to help defray the cost of the Clinton Hall remodel. All students, both on-campus and online, will have access to such services virtually or in a physical OneStop facility.

- Non-resident or international tuition rates will be charged unless you are majoring in a fully online program.
- Workshop fees are assessed per credit hour. Please visit www.wichita.edu/workshopfees for more information.
- Health insurance is assessed to all international students unless you are able to show proof of private insurance. For more information, click here.

Examples of Incidental Fees

- Payment plan – Down payment of $100 and $30 setup fee are charged to set up a payment plan. These fees cannot be refunded.
- Credit card service fee – Fee paid to a third party with a separate agreement when you make the online credit card payment. These fees cannot be refunded.
- Fines – Charges you incur for these types of issues: breakage, non-return of equipment, parking/traffic tickets, library, housing, etc.
- Late fees – For information regarding late fees, click here.
- Administrative and special fees – including, but not limited to: library, Counseling & Prevention Services, Testing Services, Student Health and Career Services. Please visit here.
- Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) charge – WSU charges a $30 fee in the event that your bank account did not have sufficient funds to cover your payment. If you made an online payment in error, we do not have the capability to stop a payment. You would need to contact your bank and inquire about a “stop pay”.
NOTES: If you accidentally overpaid on your account, all money is sent to the State Treasury and overpayments remain on your account for future charges.
