Why didn't I get the Merit Scholarship? Why didn't I qualify for a larger Merit Scholarship?

Eligible high school seniors are evaluated for freshman merit scholarships at the time of admission based on a combination of competitive ACT/SAT composite/total scores and unweighted GPA. The deadline for freshmen merit scholarship consideration is February 1. If your test scores improve, you should submit an official transcript or the appropriate official ACT/SAT report to the Office of Admissions in January. If you have improved scores on file, you will be re-evaluated for larger merit scholarships in February. Additional information about freshmen merit scholarships is available at wichita.edu/freshmenmerit.

Eligible transfer students are evaluated for transfer merit scholarships at the time of admission. Students must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative college GPA and at least 12, but no more than 75 transfer hours at the end of the fall term prior to fall enrollment. Students must also be transferring directly from another institution with no time off (exception of summer semester) and be fully admitted as a degree-bound student. They must be working on their first bachelor’s degree and cannot be a previous WSU student (exception made for high school guest coursework). The priority deadline for these scholarships is February 1. Additional information about freshmen merit scholarships is available at wichita.edu/transfermerit.

Why didn't I qualify for a larger Merit Scholarship?
Scholarships are awarded based on eligibility at the time of admission and funding. Students are awarded the largest scholarship for which they are eligible.
