Wichita State University
Statement of Financial Responsibility
By agreeing to these terms and conditions, I assume a legal obligation and a financial responsibility for all charges billed to my student account. By clicking “I Accept”/by electronically signing this document, I am acknowledging that I have read, understand and agree to the terms and conditions stated. If there are any questions regarding Wichita State University’s Statement of Financial Responsibility, please email wsuaccountsreceivable@wichita.edu.
Charges may include but are not limited to tuition, course fees, housing meal and room charges, health insurance, late fees, returned payments, parking and library fines, healthcare debt, and non-returned or damaged/lost items or equipment.
I acknowledge that I have read, understand and agree to the following provisions:
- If I decide not to attend a class, I must officially drop that class within the stated refund periods to avoid financial responsibility.
- WSU uses my assigned WSU email as an official method of communication, including notifications of electronic billing, and I am responsible for reading on a timely basis.
- If my federal or institutional financial aid is either not received by WSU or I later lose eligibility to retain financial aid for the term, I assume responsibility for paying all student obligations.
- A “HOLD” will be placed on my records if my student obligations remain unpaid. This will prevent my ability to register for future terms, add classes for the current term, and receive your diploma. Transcript services will not be withheld for any student with a financial hold.
- If my (military, employer, governmental agency, insurance, etc.) fails to pay WSU, I assume responsibility for the unpaid amount.
- WSU or its designated collection agency may use an automated calling system and pre-recorded voice or text messages to contact me regarding any outstanding account to any current or future phone number I have provided to the college, including any number to a cellular phone or wireless device.
- Delinquent debts may be reported to national credit bureaus and referred to collection agencies and pursued through legal action against me. I agree to pay all reasonable fees and expenses of collecting unpaid charges, including late fees, collection agency fees (which may be based on a percentage up to a maximum of 33.3% of the debt), attorney and court fees.
- I am responsible for keeping records up to date with my current physical addresses, email addresses and phone numbers. Upon leaving WSU for any reason, it is my responsibility to provide WSU with updated contact information for purposes of continued communication.
- I understand WSU is advancing value to me in the form of educational services.
- I agree to pay any and all IRS fines assessed as a result of my missing SSN/TIN.
Additional Notes:
- If you are awarded financial aid after the payment due date, it can still be applied to your student account.
- If you decide not to attend, you will need to successfully withdraw from your courses or you will receive failing grades on your transcript.
- If you do not withdraw from your courses, a financial hold will be placed on your account until the amount owed has been satisfied.
