In order for you to graduate and receive your diploma, you must first submit an online Application for Degree (AFD) to begin the process. To submit this, please follow these steps:
- Log into your myWSU portal
- Go to the myClasses tab
- Click on Application for Degree located in the Graduation Links box and complete the AFD. You will receive a confirmation if successfully completed.

- If you plan to attend the commencement ceremony, you need to RSVP by clicking on Commencement Registration located in the Graduation Links box.
- Purchase your cap and gown which is available at the bookstore.
Undergraduate students
- Suggested time to submit the AFD is the semester before you plan to graduate
- Deadline for your name to appear in the graduation program:
- Spring and summer graduates - March 1
- Fall graduates - October 1
- The last day to apply for graduation in that semester is the last day of finals
- Review your degree audit with your academic advisor if you have not already done so. Some academic advising offices will require additional forms that must be completed before graduation
- If you have questions or need to make any changes to your AFD, you should contact your Academic Advising Office.
Graduate students
- Deadline for applying to graduate is the 20th day of classes for the spring or fall semester, or the 10th day of classes for the summer semester
- Deadline for your name to appear in the graduation program:
- Spring and summer graduates - March 1
- Fall graduates - October 1
- Required $25 Filing Fee
- If you have questions or need to make any changes to your AFD, you should contact the Graduate School Office.
