Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTA)
GTA tuition waivers are for tuition only. The reduced tuition will depend on the level of your assistantship appointment (i.e., 100%, 75%, 50%, 25%). Tuition waivers are applied to your account as a tuition payment. You are responsible for the payment of other charges such as student fees, campus infrastructure fees, online course fees, course and departmental fees.
Graduate Research Assistants (GRA) and Graduate Staff Assistants (GSA)
GRA tuition waivers are for non-resident tuition only. Non-resident tuition waivers are applied to your account as a tuition payment. Students are responsible for the payment of in-state tuition and of other charges such as student fees, campus infrastructure fees, course and departmental fees.
Other relevant student account information
Upon approval of your position, you will receive a waiver for out-of-state or international tuition if your appointment is greater than .40 EFT (working approximately 16 hours per week). If you do not work from the 20th day of classes until the end of the semester, the waiver may be withdrawn. The waiver also is in effect during the summer semester whether you are working or not. If you are taking a 499 or lower level class, the non-resident tuition will be waived but the reduced tuition will not be applied.
