Your application for financial aid and scholarships will only be processed once you have been admitted to Wichita State University.
After you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the WSU Office of Financial Aid typically receives your information within 3 to 5 business days. If additional items are needed before processing your FAFSA, you will be notified via your WSU email. After all requested items are completed and reviewed, you will be notified of your eligibility.
Once your financial aid award offer is prepared, the Office of Financial Aid will send an email to your WSU email account. You must act upon your award(s) according to the instructions in the email. If you have additional questions, you should contact the Office of Financial Aid.
To check the status of your financial aid, you can visit wichita.edu/onestop/. You can also check your status through your myWSU portal by following these steps:
- Log into your myWSU portal
- Go to the myFinances tab
- Go to the Financial Aid Dashboard under Financial Aid Links.
- Using the drop-down box, choose the appropriate aid year.

- Visit wichita.edu/finaidpolicy to review your financial aid terms and conditions.
You will see any missing items listed as an "Unsatisfied Requirement" on the home tab of your Financial Aid Dashboard in your myWSU student portal.
A green circle with a check mark means the requirement is satisfied. A red flag means that it is in process or that there is information that you need to submit to the Office of Financial Aid.
